Dragons Den winner provides safe light

Home-tek has negotiated the exclusive rights to manufacture and distribute the Safe-T-Light self-contained nightlight and torch.

Dragons Den winner provides safe light

The product is the brainchild of British inventor Chris Haines, who won investment for the product on the Dragons’ Den television programme.

The Safe-T-Light, which plugs into a normal 13amp socket, has a rechargeable LED torch that switches on automatically if the electricity fails, providing the ambient light level is below the preset level. Emergency lighting is provided for approximately 20 hours. The light can also be removed to use as an emergency torch, and in everyday use it provides non-intrusive lighting during darkness.

In the event of a fire the product also gives an emergency light below smoke level.

The Safe-T-Light uses less than 3W and runs for three days on a penny’s worth of electricity.

Retail price £22.99; twin pack £39.99
