Dixons Carphone UK boss steps down

Dixons Carphone announced today (Friday April 6) that Katie Bickerstaffe has stepped down as UK & Ireland ceo to join the new energy supply business created by the proposed merger of SSE plc and Innogy SE. She will take up her role as chief executive designate later this year.

Group chief executive Alex Baldock said: “I would like to thank Katie for all she has done over the past 10 years for the UK and Ireland business. Her dedication, passion and hard work has helped transform and strengthen the business into a market leader during a period of significant change. I look forward to working closely with Katie in the coming months and wish her every success when she moves to her exciting new role.”

Katie commented: “I’m incredibly proud of the group’s achievements over the last few years, laying the foundations for a great future. On a personal level, it’s been a pleasure to work alongside so many talented and committed colleagues and I offer my heartfelt thanks to both them and the board for their support over the years.

“After 10 wonderful years in the business, I feel it’s the right time to move onto my next challenge.”
