De’Longhi introduces a ‘world first’

Italian coffee machine brand De’Longhi says it has launched the world’s first smart connected bean-to-cup coffee machine which creates personalised coffee.

The new PrimaDonna Elite is billed as the world’s first fully integrated bean-to-cup coffee machine to offer smart connectivity, allowing users to create, personalise and deliver coffee straight from their mobile devices, wherever they are in the home.

Operated by the Smart Coffee App from any Apple or Android smartphone or directly via the machine’s colour touch display, the PrimaDonna Elite allows the user to personalise any drink to match personal taste, set-up personal profiles by memorising ideal aroma, temperature and quantity of coffee and milk for each drink, and even create new recipes.

The Smart Coffee App also allows the user to change the machine’s settings with an interactive guide and offers maintenance and service connection.

Neal Jones, De’Longhi UK and Ireland country manager, said: “Due to consumer demand for barista-quality personalisation at home, De’Longhi has created the PrimaDonna Elite: the world’s first bean-to-cup machine with smart, connected technology with user profiling to give consumers the ultimate drink personalisation, in the comfort of their own home.

“We have seen coffee grow from a functional routine to a pleasurable pastime where a one size fits all drink is no longer acceptable.

“Each coffee lover has their own unique interpretation of the perfect brew. The key reason for this is the increasing choice of good quality coffee beans and equipment available, combined with a natural inkling to learn about and experiment with coffee styles, and we believe the PrimaDonna Elite is the ideal launch to meet these developing consumer needs.”

The PrimaDonna Elite retails at £1,499.99.
