The page reads: “We were so grateful for the work that Southmead Hospital Intensive Care Unit did for our Dad, so we wanted to raise money [for Southmead Hospital Charity] so they can continue to support patients in need and their families.
“Please help us help them by giving whatever you can, using the ‘Give Now’ button. Thank you in advance for your generosity; it means a lot!”
Southmead Hospital Charity raises funds to support the healthcare services at Southmead Hospital, Cossham Hospital and in the Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset communities. Working alongside clinical teams, therapeutic support staff and the patient community, it raises funds for projects that are beyond the remit of the NHS.
David’s 35-year housewares career began in 1984, when he joined Bristol-based housewares supplier T&G Woodware as warehouse manager and, after a successful period, was promoted to operations director. He stayed there for 15 years, before becoming managing director of his own company, Avanti Housewares, in 2000.
He spent the next six years importing and distributing housewares products to the retail sector before becoming an independent sales agent in 2007. His portfolio of brands included Forma House, The DRH Collection, Guzzini, Silverwood, Navigate, JWP, Terraillon, Ladelle and Tramontina.
On February 4, David was named Britain’s Best Housewares Salesperson at The Housewares Innovation Awards 2019 ceremony at the National Conference Centre in Birmingham, organised by www.HousewaresLive.net and Housewares Magazine in partnership with Spring Fair.
