Housewares distributor DKB Household’s Cole & Mason brand has been awarded CoolBrands status.
CoolBrands is an annual initiative ‘to identify and pay tribute to the nation’s ‘coolest’ brands. Brands do not apply or pay to be considered for CoolBrands status. The 2014/15 CoolBrands were chosen by an expert council and thousands of members of the British public.Since ‘cool’ is subjective, voters are not given a criteria but are asked to consider factors such as style, originality, desirability, innovation, authenticity and uniqueness.
DKB managing director Nick Cornwell said: “As we move closer to our centenary year, we’re exceptionally proud to have been awarded CoolBrands status [for 2014/15]. This reaffirms our own beliefs in such an iconic British brand and pays tribute to the hard work the team have contributed to its success.
“We will continue to live up to our CoolBrands status. Our team are constantly developing elegant and original new products within the seasoning category, which will achieve the high levels of performance that our customers have rightly come to expect from our brand.”
He noted that innovation and style have been at the heart of Cole & Mason since its beginnings in 1919. Examples include the launch of the first acrylic mill, plus the award-winning Precision Grind mechanism, followed by the Gourmet Precision System, and the introduction of a full range of seasoning products including herb and spice racks in 2013.
