Clas Ohlson, the Swedish homewares, electricals and DIY retailer, says it wants to grow its small UK presence into a nationwide chain.
The company, which sells a wide range of kitchenware along with home electrical and hardware products, currently has seven shops in the UK, and will open new outlets in Birmingham, Norwich, Cardiff and Doncaster this year.
However, it says the UK is capable of supporting significant expansion, and it is thought this could see the retailer grow to around 300 outlets, through store acquisition. It already has 110 across Scandinavia.
The company says it is very encouraged by results from its existing UK stores, the first of which opened in Croydon two years ago.
