Christmas? Bring it on, says Tesco

Tesco has released the first of its festive adverts on the theme of ‘Christmas – Bring it on’.

The campaign follows a similar trend it used last year, breaking up the ads over time rather than running one giant advert.

The ads’ family-centric approach promotes the practicalities that the supermarket can offer Christmas shoppers, in a series of shorts starring the usual comic duo: ‘Gavin and Stacey’ actress Ruth Jones and comedian Ben Miller from ‘The Armstrong & Miller Show’.

Topics covered range from cooking the turkey and greeting unexpected guests to dealing with those who sometimes overstay their welcome.

Tesco group brand director Michelle McEttrick said: “As our customers start to make their plans, we want them to know we’re ready to help, no matter what Christmas throws at them.

“We’ve identified those festive moments that our customers experience in the run up to Christmas and used them to create our TV adverts for this year. So however our customers choose to shop with Tesco this festive season, the message is loud and clear: Christmas – bring it on!”
