BHETA welcomes Welsh Slate

The British Home Enhancement Trade Association (BHETA) has welcomed Welsh Slate as a new member.

Long-established in the home improvement sector for roofing products, architectural cladding, internal and external flooring, work surfaces and decorative aggregates, Welsh Slate also supplies a range of tabletop products into the hospitality sector and is about to launch a retail tabletop and kitchen giftware range.

The company, which sources slate from its quarries in North Wales, will unveil its new 20- piece Welsh Slate retail tabletop collection at trade show Exclusively Housewares, which takes place in London from June 14-15.

BHETA’s housewares sector director Will Jones commented: “This is great news. Welsh Slate epitomises the multi-faceted nature of BHETA’s expertise and networking relationships, with its interests in both home enhancement and home improvement.

“BHETA has always represented a wide range of categories but rarely such diversity within one company.  The common factor is the superior quality of the raw material, with its virtual non-absorbency enabling not only a roof slate guarantee of 100 years, but also a perfect surface from which to serve and eat food!”

Paul Kempsey of Luxury Housewares, the housewares sales and marketing venture which is working with Welsh Slate to launch the retail collection, added: “Having developed many major ranges and products for Tesco, Sainsbury, Lakeland, John Lewis and other homeware retailers, I knew that BHETA was the perfect partner for Welsh Slate as it moves into other sectors of the market.

“I’m looking forward to making the most of BHETA’s retail engagement programme for the new range of tabletop, kitchen and gift, and I’m confident that in addition, BHETA can deliver benefits for Welsh Slate as a whole.”
