BHETA to host Meet The Buyer Day with Home Hardware

The British Home Enhancement Trade Association (BHETA) is hosting another Meet The Buyer day next month – this time with Home Hardware, the dealer -owned organisation for independently owned hardware and DIY stores.

The event will take place on January 21 at Aztec West Hotel just off the M5 near Bristol.

Home Hardware comprises over 400 members including independent hardware retailers, housewares shops, cookshops, ironmongers and garden centres.  Owned by the retailers it serves, Home Hardware enables its members to compete against multiple high street names and DIY superstores by combining buying power. The company provides national distribution from its two distribution centres at Barnstaple and Bedford.

The five-strong buying team will cover categories from housewares and SDA to laundry, DIY, hardware and gardening.   The brief from BHETA to suppliers is to focus on innovation.  Participating suppliers will be allocated a 20-25 minute appointment with the relevant buyer for a maximum of two people.  Suppliers will be given a templated presentation format to ensure that the limited time is put to maximum use.

BHETA home enhancement sector director Will Jones commented: “This is a unique opportunity for potential suppliers and as such, is sure to attract a big response. There will also be a limit to the number of people that can be accommodated on the day and I therefore urge interested suppliers to contact BHETA as soon as possible with a view to confirming the category or categories of interest.”

BHETA home improvement sector director Paul Grinsell added: “We will do our utmost to accommodate everyone and need to receive initial applications as soon as possible, so please contact BHETA as a priority.”
