BHETA stages ‘Meet the Buyer’ event with Lakeland

The British Home Enhancement Trade Association (BHETA) is to hold the fifth event in its extremely successful ‘Meet The Buyer’ series – this time featuring one of the housewares industry’s major retailers: Lakeland.

The Day provides a great opportunity for all companies – large or small – to meet and talk to a knowledgeable and receptive team of buyers hungry for new ideas and products.

Lakeland’s director of buying Matthew Canwell will be present, along with the buying and merchandising teams.

The event will be exclusive to BHETA members and will take place on Thursday January 16 at the Hilton Hotel in Bromsgrove, Birmingham.

Participating members will be allocated a 20-30 minute appointment time with relevant buyers covering the product sectors in a wide range of categories requested by Lakeland. A maximum of two people from each supplier company will be allowed and a template for the presentations has been agreed with Lakeland to ensure that the limited time is put to maximum use.

The 67-strong specialist chain is particularly looking to engage with new or existing suppliers who are able to offer innovation in the areas of product development, promotional activity, packaging, point of sale or other initiatives designed to stimulate the market.

BHETA’s housewares sector director, William Jones commented: “This is brilliant news for our many members who met with Matthew Canwell at our housewares forum. I am thrilled that we have been able to arrange this event so soon and look forward to a successful day.”

Lakeland follows in the footsteps of past participants Homebase, Robert Dyas, John Lewis and Screwfix.
