BHETA news: Jeremy Pang’s Curious Crab Company; Dobbies webinar

Celebrity chef, Jeremy Pang from the School of Wok cookery school has become a business service provider member of BHETA with his company Curious Crab. As a result, the Curious Crab team will be present at the Exclusively Show, which takes place in the Business Design Centre, Islington on 14-15 June, working with BHETA and exhibitors.

Jeremy comes from three generations of Chinese chefs and founded School of Wok in 2009 to teach Eastern cuisine to students in their own homes and then from its first permanent professional kitchen in Covent Garden. School of Wok won The British Cookery School Awards in 2014 and Jeremy is now a regular chef on Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch and author of Chinese Unchopped, and Hong Kong Diner.

Curious Crab is Jeremy’s video production agency, specialising in food, drink and travel subjects and combining product animation with lifestyle film. Its objective, says Jeremy, is to entertain and engage the modern day audience with irresistible video content for social media and online. At the Exclusively Show, Jeremy will be working with exhibitors to help them create promotional material and developing content for the Show itself for use in 2023.

Stephen Richardson, marketing manager for BHETA and Exclusively commented, “It is great for BHETA to be able to provide its members with a video production company with as much creativity, experience, and kudos as Jeremy Pang’s Curious Crab. I am sure that his involvement in Exclusively will prove a real benefit for exhibitors.”

In other BHETA news, the association is to hold another of its popular retailer networking webinars, this time with the garden centre chain, Dobbies. The event will take place on Tuesday 5 April at 11 am and will provide delegates with an update on Dobbies’ business in general and its business strategy going forward.

The speakers will be Graeme Jenkins, CEO of Dobbies Garden Centres, and Debbie Harding, CFO, who talk for approximately 20-30 minutes and then answer questions from the audience.

Dobbies Garden Centres was founded James Dobbie in 1865 and is now the largest garden centre operator in the UK with 74 stores nationwide. The company is privately owned and employs around 4000 people.

While this is a BHETA member-only event, non-members who would like to attend can contact Keeley Vernon, BHETA’s sector manager for DIY and garden on 07398 840418, or Seema Grantham, BHETA’s sector manager for housewares and small domestic appliances on 07946 078566.

Steve Richardson commented, “Dobbies is a much talked about player in the garden centre sector and the opportunity to speak to the company directly should not be missed. I am sure there will be a great turn-out.”
