BHETA appoints home improvement director

The British Home Enhancement Trade Association (BHETA) has appointed Paul Grinsell as home improvement executive director, following the departure of Peter Stone. Paul takes up his new role on October 5.

Paul Grinsell brings over 18 years’ experience of the DIY industry in sales and marketing director roles.  Until recently Paul was employed by Brintex Ltd as exhibition and sales director of the Totally DIY and Totally Tools Exhibitions. Prior to that he worked in industry publishing, with roles at Miller Freeman, Morgan Grampian and Benn Publications respectively.

Commenting on the appointment, BHETA executive chairman David Smyth said: “Paul has worked extensively at senior level across all sectors of the DIY, gardening and builders’ merchant industries. As BHETA seeks more opportunities for growth in both home improvement and related sectors like garden and building products, he will bring much valuable experience to the team in terms of profile, contacts and market knowledge both in the UK and overseas.”

Paul Grinsell added: “I’m thrilled to be taking on this role. BHETA has developed so much over the past few years – especially with its retail engagement programme of networking forums and ‘meet the buyer’ events – and I’m looking forward to working with the team to continue taking its services forward.

“I believe BHETA is providing its supplier and manufacturer members with a great combination of support and opportunity, and that we can deliver that same level of value to retailers, to the mutual advantage of all.”
