Housewares companies interested in trading with Wyevale Garden Centres will get an opportunity next month when the British Home Enhancement Trade Association (BHETA) and the Garden Industry Manufacturers’ Association (GIMA) will jointly run a Meet The Buyer event with the leading garden centre group.
Open to both BHETA and GIMA members, the event will be held on November 12 at The Holiday Inn (Brentford Lock) on Commerce Road at Brentford in Middlesex. It is particularly targeted at potential new suppliers to Wyevale and is not therefore generally open to existing ones. The only exception is that current suppliers of home products may present ideas to the gardening buyer and vice versa.
Wyevale said it is keen to see new and innovative products, regardless of the size of the supplying company, so niche players are just as welcome as larger and more established companies. Buyers from all the main categories – including home – will be participating and a maximum of two people from each supplier can attend. Companies selected to attend by Wyevale will be allocated 20 minute appointments with the relevant buyer.
BHETA DIY and garden sector director Peter Stone said: “As Wyevale has 140 garden centres across the UK, we anticipate this as being a very popular event and I advise interested parties to book early.”
GIMA director Vicky Nuttall added: “Having the chance to present to the relevant buyer at Wyevale is a brilliant opportunity for members of both GIMA and BHETA, so it’s great that both organisations are working together to ensure the maximum number of suppliers can benefit.”
