An opportunity for housewares suppliers to interact with retail giant Homebase outside of the usual buying channels has taken off in a big way, with appointments for BHETA’s November Meet the Buyer event fully subscribed.

The initiative is being used by Homebase to kick-start its Autumn/Winter 2016 range review. With over 300 stores serving 64 million customers, plus a fast growing online business, the chain is looking for innovative products and short term promotional opportunities across cookshop, tabletop, small kitchen appliances, utility, laundry, cleaning, home and furniture and home accessories.

The BHETA and Homebase Meet The Buyer day is taking place on November 26 at the Holiday Inn in Milton Keynes.  All companies attending will be allocated a 20 minute appointment with a maximum of two people from each company allowed to attend.

BHETA home enhancement director Will Jones explained: “We anticipated significant demand for this Homebase event. The majority of applications have been from potential new suppliers, which is great, plus a number of existing Homebase suppliers. These occasions are always a great opportunity to sell in new ranges, packaging or promotions.”
