BBC One to broadcast ‘Christmas Kitchen’ fortnight

In the lead-up to the festive season, ‘Christmas Kitchen’ – a spin-off of BBC One’s weekend food show ‘Saturday Kitchen’ – will broadcast every weekday morning for two weeks and will be hosted by Andi Oliver and Matt Tebbutt.

The broadcaster said audiences will be shown how to create ‘the perfect Christmas dish, for everything from an impromptu party to a planned family gathering’, with celebrity guests and chefs appearing across the fortnight.

Andi, who was recently announced as the new judge of the ‘Great British Menu’, and Matt will be joined by celebrity guests including ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ 2016 contestant Louise Redknapp.

Every day an international chef including Vivek Singh, Thomasina Miers, Sabrina Ghayour, Theo Randall and Tomer Amedi will create a festive dish food from around the world; and former ‘The Great British Bake Off’ contestants will be revealing how to create food gifts.

Andi and Matt will also be showing clips from the BBC’s festive food archives from cooks including Nigella Lawson, Delia Smith, Mary Berry, Nigel Slater, The Hairy Bikers and Lorraine Pascale.

And the show will delve further into the archives of Christmas past, looking back at how some of our early celebrity chefs such as Fanny Cradock used their practical know-how to make Christmas cookery easier for viewers.
