Homeware retailer Barker And Stonehouse will be opening the doors of its new branch, in Battersea, on July 6.

The London branch will occupy two floors in one of the most historic buildings south of the River Thames: the old Candle Factory on York Road.

Founded by Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, the retailer began life in the north-east of England in 1946 and gradually grew to become one of the UK’s largest family-owned furniture retailers.

It offers a wide range of exclusive contemporary furniture and home accessories alongside established brands.

Today, Barker And Stonehouse employs 275 staff at stores in Knaresborough, Leeds, Hull, Middlesborough, Nottingham, Darlington, Newcastle, Gateshead and now, London.
