Lakeland unveils 100-plus kitchen arrivals for Autumn

Lakeland’s ‘Kitchen and Around The Home – Autumn 2017’ catalogue features more than 100 new kitchen arrivals across its baking, cooking , food prep and small electricals categories.

The front cover of the housewares chain’s 232-page catalogue features an image of the new and exclusive Lakeland Touchscreen Air Fryer (£79.99) , which cooks 500g of chips with a teaspoonful of oil by circulating hot air from all directions.

The 2.6 litre model has heat settings that can be adjusted from 80deg c to 200deg c, a non-stick dishwasher-safe pan and frying basket, a 60-minute countdown timer and an auto-pause function.

Lakeland said: ‘The cool-touch handle, and casing and overheat protection, keep safety in mind and any excess oil drains into the collection tank’. It added: ‘Unlike other fryers, the compact design (27 x 34.5 x 32.5cm H) means it won’t wallow up worktop space.’

The 68-strong housewares chain has flagged up five more examples of new products.

1.New in food prep: the EdgeKeeper range (from £4.99). Exclusive to Lakeland, these kitchen knives and scissors feature a protective sheath with built-in sharpener for maintenance, and soft-grip handles,

2.New in cookware: Fat Drainer Frying Pan (£37.99). The two-piece design of this 28cm pan allows the user to drain off excess oil and fat, ‘so ‘you can cook all your favourites – sausages, bacon, burgers and steak – in a way that retains all the flavour but doesn’t leave them swimming in fat’. The pan is non-stick-coated and made of die-cast aluminium with heat-resistant handles.

3.New in home-made food: Lakeland Fermentation Jars (from £6.99). Exclusive to Lakeland, the design of these jars is ‘guaranteed to make the fermentation process as faff-free as possible’. As pressure builds up inside, an automatic valve in the lid releases the air when needed, allowing the contents to ferment with no other equipment required. The jars, which come in three sizes, are wide-mouthed with an airtight silicone seal.

4.New in baking: Guittard Chocolate Baking Chips (£5.49 per pack). Crafted by San Francisco-based chocolatier Guittard, these chips are made using artisan techniques to create a ‘truly superior chocolate chip’ for adding to cake mixture and cookie dough. Made from fairly traded beans, they are available in extra dark, semi-sweet and milk flavours.

5.New in drinks: Mighty Mug (£14.99). This ‘unspillable’ travel mug has a suction-style base that holds onto almost any smooth, flat surface, so it won’t tip over if knocked but releases effortlessly when picked up, Lakeland said. With a 320ml capacity, it features double-walled insulation and a flip-top lid.
