The show, which will run at Birmingham’s NEC from September 5 to 8, is the largest event of the season for the home and gift trade, offering a selection of new products for the run-up to Christmas. And many exhibitors will also be previewing early spring ranges.

“Autumn Fair exhibitors have already taken more floor space than we went to show with last year,” said managing director Louise Young. “This is a very encouraging indicator of how well the trade has weathered tough economic conditions, and also that our own efforts to support and grow the market are bearing fruit.

“These are the only shows in the home and gift market that have seen their attendance figures increase over the past three years,” she added, “and exhibitors are voting with their feet by coming back in droves.”

And she said the fair was “seeing an influx of lapsed and returning customers”.

The main focus for the housewares industry will be the Kitchen, Dining & Housewares sector, where visitors will also be able to enjoy the popular Cook Live! event, which drew crowds to see world-class celebrity chefs in action at last year’s trial event.
