Autumn Fair launches awards for top buyers and retailers

Autumn Fair International 2014 will see the launch of the inaugural Buyers Power List Awards.

Autumn Fair launches awards for top buyers and retailers

Exhibition organiser i2i Events Group said the Awards aim to recognise, celebrate and reward buyers and retailers across the different sectors of Autumn Fair that ‘make an outstanding difference and are highly influential in the market’.

The competition will honour buyers and retailers from within the UK and Republic of Ireland across six categories: Best Kitchen, Dining & Housewares Retailer, Best Online Retailer, Best Department Store, Best Individual Buyer (across sectors), Best Independent Retailer (five stores or fewer) and Best Independent Retailer (six stores or more).

The awards are won via an industry-voted nomination system. The first stage of the process is a round of nominations open to anyone in the industry across the sectors of Autumn Fair, from exhibitors and suppliers to retailers. To cast your vote, visit the Autumn Fair website www.autumnfair.com/buyerspowerlist. You can vote in all six categories or just one if you choose. The closing date for nominations is August 8. Once all the nominations are in, they will be tallied and the individuals and companies with the most votes will make the finalist list. The second stage of the process is a round of peer nominations in which the finalists will be asked to rank their peers across each awards category.

The finalists will be announced at a champagne reception held on-site at the show, which takes place from September 7 – 10 at The NEC in Birmingham (the volume halls open a day earlier, on September 6).

Nick Davison, portfolio director for Autumn Fair International at i2i Events Group, said: “We’re proud and delighted to be launching the Autumn Fair International Buyers Power List Awards at the 2014 show. Autumn Fair is the most important retail event of the season and we felt it was high time to recognise the amazing achievements of retailers up and down the UK and Republic of Ireland, who are literally the powerhouse of our industry. We are encouraging as many people as possible to give their favourite retailers the chance to win by casting their votes on the Buyers Power List website.”

The Buyers Power List is now open for nominations.
