Asda drops the price of Prosecco to ready the nation for the new royal

The countdown is on to the arrival of the nation’s newest royal, with April 23 tipped to be the day that the Duchess of Cambridge gives birth to her third child.

To commemorate the occasion, Asda has cut the price of its Prosecco Vino Spumante Extra Dry to £5. The supermarket chain claims the fizz is the cheapest Prosecco on the market, with the bubbly available in-store while stocks last.

Asda wine buyer Lauren Venters commented: “With the impending arrival of the royal baby, our customers are now starting to stock up on everything they need to throw a soirée to celebrate the occasion.

“As we saw with both George and Charlotte, the arrival of a royal baby is an occasion that almost the entire nation marks. So what better way to enjoy the moment than with a glass of crisp, quality fizz?”
