Argos Spring/Summer 2020 range out now

The new Argos Spring/Summer 2020 (SS20) range is now available to browse and buy in-store, online at or on the Argos app. Highlights from the 60,000-strong product range include:

Inspired by competitive baking TV shows, the LEGO Friends Baking Competition Set (£35.00) is aimed at budding junior bakers and play makers. The set features a TV studio baking show with two cooking stations and a main stage for the competition winner. It includes rotating cake stands, ovens, accessories (such as a whisk, chocolate, cash check, trophy, milk carton, packets of sugar and icing, plus kitchen equipment) and mini-dolls Stephanie, David and a judge, to recreate the shows that kids watch with the family. Players spin the wheel above the stage to choose which ingredients the bakers must include and get creative with the decorations.

Exclusive to Argos, the Bush 25.2V Cordless Handstick Vacuum Cleaner (£79.99) is a device with a run time of 45 minutes. Its 2-in-1 design means it can be changed to handheld mode and its non-slip rubber pad on the handle ensures surface protection. For less than £80.00, this is one of our best value cordless vacuum cleaners, Argo says.

On a deeper level of floorcare, the VAX ONEPWR Glide Cordless Hardfloor Cleaner (£249.99) washes, vacs and dries all at the same time. Argos says this new technology multi-surface hardfloor cleaner kills 99.9% of bacteria.

Other small appliances include the Russell Hobbs Honeycomb Breakfast Family range of kettles and toasters, available in black, white and grey and priced at £24.99 per item; the Tefal Actifry Genius XL 2-in-1 Low Oil Fryer (£299.99); and the George Foreman Smokeless BBQ Grill (£69.99). With smokeless technology, the grill plate is designed to direct hot fat into the drip tray underneath – cooling it immediately and eliminating the burning that creates the smoke and smell, meaning it can be used both inside and outside.

Argos says: ‘The Skandi collection offers efficient, space-saving pieces to suit a range of different styles. Soft curves and clean lines are central to the aesthetic, with many pieces featuring light wood finishes, notably the Charlie Chair – Mint (£60.00) and artisanal touches, such as leather pull handles on storage pieces.
‘The classic countryside look remains a firm favourite amongst our customers. This season subtle updates have been injected into our Countryside style, with lighter wood tones and a series of upholstered pieces in soothing neutral shades designed to create a calming sense of wellbeing. The Barmouth Cuddle Chair (£550.00) is a highlight of the range, which doubles as a sofa for two or a spacious lounge armchair.
‘Our customer demand for Manhattan-style, loft living interiors has surged in the past year, with an increase of website searches by 312% for furniture with an industrial aesthetic. We’ve expanded our Industrial range to offer new pieces for every room in the home, from modular bathroom storage units to a reclaimed-style wood effect and tubular metal bed that evokes a relaxed urban vibe. The Velvet Tribeca Dining Chairs (£180.00) bring a luxurious texture and warmth to this look, designed to be mixed with new shades including berry pink and indigo.
‘When designing pieces for the bedroom and living area we keep rest and relaxation at front of mind. For those who favour classic designs and sophisticated colour palettes, the Boutique collection of luxury furniture and accessories offers a blend of timeless elegance and comfort, with opulent finishes which inject touches of glamour into the home. Soft pink velvet upholstery has proven popular, as seen on the stylist Valerie Pink Accent Chair (£400).’

The retailer’s tropical Easter collection includes ‘all the egg hunt essentials’ such as brightly coloured garlands, baskets and egg hunt signs plus craft kits and Easter Island inflatables, which are exclusive to Argos.

The Argos Wedding collection features accessories and decorations including floral hoop-wreaths, light-up garlands and memory boxes.

Argos concludes: ‘As the months become warmer, entertaining at home shifts to the outdoors as an alternative to the living room. With outdoor spaces now seen as an extension of the home, the Outdoor collection allows your style to extend beyond an interior setting, from new pieces such as the bistro dining set for two through to larger lounge collections. Accessorise the al fresco setting with solar lighting that stays bright all year long, and cushions and pouffes for additional comfort, specially designed to withstand rain and wind.’
