Apollo Housewares wins accolade at Home Hardware trade show

At Home Hardware Southwest’s Spring Trade Show, Apollo Housewares was voted the ‘Best Display Stand’.

The plaudit earned Apollo Housewares sales manager John Goodger a cash prize of £100 and a framed certificate. Vivid Arts received the runners up prize of £50.

150 exhibitors attended the show, held on March 5 at the Westpoint Exhibition Centre in Exeter.

The awards were judged by an independent panel and presented by David Adams, Chairman of Home Hardware.

David Adams said: “I’m delighted so many of our suppliers have supported this trade show. Its no surprise that well-dressed stands attract more retailers and therefore achieve greater sales orders, so it’s important that our suppliers take pride in their stands.

“As well as wearing the chairman’s hat today, I’m also attending the show as a retailer. I’m attracted to well merchandised, well-lit displays such as Apollo.”

The judging panel agreed the Apollo Housewares stand had all round visual impact and good use of lighting. Star buys and special Show offers were clearly demonstrated.

Meanwhile, a draw held at the show raised £550 to be split equally between Cancer Research and industry charity the Rainy Day Trust. The winner of the first prize £100 cash was Liz Docwra from Havard Ironmongers.

Home Hardware Southwest said it would like to thank all members, suppliers and staff who generously contributed towards these worthy charities.
