Anyone fancy a catpooccino?

The up-market Peter Jones department store in London’s Sloane Square is charging £50 for a cup of coffee – made from cat poo.

Anyone fancy a catpooccino?

The appropriately-named Caffe Raro is made from Jamaican Blue Mountain and Kopi Luwak beans, the latter being a favourite snack of the cat-like Asian palm civet. The animals, which live in the coffee plantations, find and eat the best coffee berries. The berries are then broken down in their digestive systems before being expelled in dung.

Coffee workers collect the berries from the plantation floor and wash away the dung before roasting them.

Profits from sales of the coffee in the department store this month are going to Macmillan Cancer Support.
