Andy Vaughan fit to return to work

Andy Vaughan, DIY sector director of the British Home Enhancement Trade Association, is to return to work full time following a minor stroke earlier this year.

“I appear not to have been left with any residual problems normally associated with suffering a stroke and, thankfully, I have been given clearance to resume working, initially on a part-time, flexible basis with a view, all being well, to work towards a full-time resumption towards the end of September or early October,” he said.

Vaughan also expressed his thanks to the housewares and DIY community for their messages of support during his illness.

“It’s life-threatening events that tend to make us look upon what is important in life, our own activities and how we react to others,” he said, “and I can say the way the industry have reacted towards me has been very uplifting.”

He added that he was looking forward to seeing as many people as possible in the months ahead, “and hope to have the opportunity to say thank you in person”.
