Amefa UK md John Horton moves on

After seven years, John Horton, the managing director of housewares supplier Amefa UK, has decided to move on.

Founded in 1931, Amefa is a cutlery brand which sells products in more than 30 countries, specialising in catering, mass retail and traditional retail. It has extensive expertise in manufacturing stainless steel products.

John is leaving to lead specialist SME consultancy Fresh Thinking, and will also drive a couple of other businesses. His last day with Amefa UK is August 31 and the search for his successor is under way.

He said: “Amefa UK is in a really good place now. We posted record results for our year ending April 30, profits are growing very nicely and the business is on a really strong financial footing. So, having turned the company around and then grown it significantly, my job is done here.”
