Deloitte has now named the companies that have entered administration, following this morning’s news that parent Waterford Wedgwood plc has been placed into receivership.
They are Waterford Wedgwood UK plc,
Wedgwood Ltd,
Josiah Wedgwood & Sons Ltd,
Josiah Wedgwood & Sons (Exports) Ltd,
Waterford Wedgwood Retail Ltd,

Royal Doulton (UK) Ltd,
Royal Doulton Overseas Holdings Ltd,

Statum Ltd.

Deloitte said the company employed approximately 1,900 staff working across manufacturing and retail in the UK, and that worldwide there were around another 5,800 employees covering the USA, Germany, Ireland, Canada, Australia, Indonesia, Japan and Pan Asia.

Joint administrator Angus Martin commented:
”We will be continuing to trade the business whilst seeking a sale as a going concern. We will work closely with David Sculley, chief executive officer, and Anthony Jones, chief financial officer, who have both played active roles in the restructuring efforts and the numerous conversations with potential investors.

“Waterford, Wedgwood and Royal Doulton are quintessentially classic brands that represent a high quality product which is steeped in history.

“The administration team will be working closely with management, customers and suppliers during this time to ensure operations continue whilst a sale of the business is sought.”

Waterford Wedgwood also owns German company Rosenthal but it is operated on an independent basis and is being dealt with by the Rosenthal management team.
