The Mums Choice Awards 2016 programme has crowned Addis’ Clip & Close food storage range as the ‘best store cupboard essential’ and Pyrex’s The Lab as the best kitchen gadget.
Organised by the parenting website, www.UKMums.tv, the Mums Choice Awards are designed to give mums an insight into what products in the market are favoured by their peers. Earlier this year a panel of mums from around the country tested entries in different categories, ranging from best construction toy to best bath time product.
Described as “ideal for mums on the go”, the Addis Clip & Close boxes feature an all-round silicone seal secured with four clips, making them 100% airtight and suitable for liquids.
The judges were impressed by the versatility and quality of the range, which comes in a range of sizes (180ml to 8.3l) and shapes (square, round, rectangular). It is dishwasher-, microwave-, freezer-safe and BPA-free, and has a 10-year guarantee.
Mum’s Choice Awards managing director Michele Bates commented: “When the team received the Addis samples, the task to find a suitable tester was an easy one as the entire team could not wait to get their hands on them!”

The Lab from Pyrex is an online exclusive range of frying pans which can be customised. With more than 90 design combinations, the user can choose from a selection of on-trend colours. The 24cm and 28cm frying pans have a forged aluminium body with a Teflon X-tra three-layer non-stick coating and feature streamlined and ergonomic handles and an additional borosilicate glass lid.
The testers said “The Lab is absolutely fantastic. There are a huge range of colourings and sizes, which allow you to mix and match how you please. Not only was The Lab brilliant – but the products themselves are quality as always.”
A highly commended award was given to Fosseway Trading for its Uni Lids. These high quality food grade silicone suction lids create an air-tight seal on bowls and saucepans. They are suitable for use in the fridge, freezer, microwave, on saucepans on the hob or in the oven.
