A Pyrex pun proves to be a Mini winner

Christine Lewis of High Wycombe has been presented with a new Mini One car as the lucky winner of a nationwide competition to mark the launch of ovenware brand Pyrex Elegance.

A Pyrex pun proves to be a Mini winner

She and husband Alan picked up a leaflet about the Pyrex Elegance Win a Mini competition at the Ideal Home Exhibition. Mrs Lewis then bought a Pyrex Elegance glass roasting dish for £10 from John Lewis in High Wycombe and answered three questions to enter the competition.

Her answer to the tie breaker was: “I would look elegant in a new mini because… it would gives me that touch of class ‘Par Excellence’ just like my glass, ‘Pyrexcellence’ “.

Mrs Lewis’ correct entry was drawn from thousands, and she was handed the keys to her new Mini last week by Pyrex UK commercial director Derek Jeffery.

“If the Mini gets used half as much as the Pyrex Elegance roaster, it will prove invaluable in our household,” she said.

The Lewises are due a spot of good fortune, as Mrs Lewis has nursed her husband through three cancers, two heart attacks and three heart operations.
