The Rainy Day calls for support for Christmas Appeal

The Rainy Day Trust is making one final call to action to support our Christmas Appeal.

Bryan Clover, CEO, said: “Applications for help are running at record levels and the current cold snap is placing enormous strain on family finances as the heating is on for longer.  Please encourage your staff to ask for our Let’s Save Energy pack of low-energy items to help counter-balance those rising costs.  Free LED lightbulbs, eco shower heads and radiator reflectors. The more people that know we offer the help, the more people benefit.

“We will be able to offer help throughout the Christmas period, although with bank holidays, getting help out there may be a little slower than we would have liked.  I’ll be checking e-mails every day, so people can access the help that they need even on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

“There is still time to send us stock items as part of our Reverse Advent Calendar – pack up and send us 24 items, big or small, for us to sell and raise the money that we need to support the Appeal.  We can sell most things from crockery and glassware to tools.  We want to thank the businesses that have supported us so far; we are incredibly grateful.  Thank you to Burton McCall, Dexam, Gorilla Glue, Kellaway Building Supplies, Kuhn Rikon and Toolbank for the goodies received so far. Thanks also to BHETA, Holden Decor, Maddock and Rayware for being part of the Christmas Jumper Day.  If you have had it in your mind to put something together for us, then there is still time to take part!!”
