Rainy Day Trust to hold virtual Street Fayre

The Rainy Day Trust (RDT) is holding a fundraising event on social media later this month. The Facebook Lockdown Street Fayre will take place on 18 and 19 June.

Rainy Day Trust chief executive Bryan Clover said: “As you can imagine, things have been tough recently from an income generation perspective, so I have decided to run a Facebook-based Street Fayre to sell the various items that we have had so generously donated by various businesses, and want to invite our businesses to take part too to try and generate a bit of business for them.”

The concept is simple:

  1. RDT will build an event page on Facebook.
  2. On 18 and 19 June businesses will post an introductory post followed by products with website links or how-to-buy details.
  3. Businesses will be encouraged to spread posts throughout the day.

The RDT is welcoming donations of unwanted stock for the charity to sell from businesses that cannot or do not wish to take part directly.

“I will be posting regularly to spread the word,” said Mr Clover. “Even if you can’t take part, please share the posts on Twitter and Facebook to widen the audience.  If you know of other businesses that may wish to take part, please ask them to get in touch – the more traders that we have, the more interest we can drum up for our industries’ businesses.”

If you would like to take part please contact Bryan on bryan@rainydaytrust.org.uk
