Steamer Trading openings take total to 15

Cookshop chain Steamer Trading has announced plans for two new stores, in Bournemouth and Cirencester.
Both due to open in early September, they will take the group’s total number of outlets to 15, halfway to the target of 30 stores by 2011.

Both are situated in Grade II listed buildings, in line with Steamer Trading’s preference for attractive, unusual premises. The Cirencester store is 2,000sq ft and was acquired from the General Trading Company. The Bournemouth shop will initally trade from 2,500sq ft, although a first floor may be opened later.

Steamer Trading is also looking to recruit a senior assistant buyer or merchandiser to join its buying team, based in Lewes, Sussex. Reporting directly to managing director Ben Phillips, the role is the first buying position to be offered outside the company.
