Bigger and better in Birmingham
Visitors to Spring Fair International 2012 will find a totally transformed and re-edited event that occupies three more halls than last year. The organisers promise plenty of new features and design-led product and more focus on visitor comfort and convenience.Clear product zoning and better rest and relaxation facilities will be evident at Birmingham’s NEC during the February exhibition, the largest and most comprehensive annual retail trade event in the UK. The fair has been redesigned to resemble a destination department store, where each product category will have a distinctive show within a show.
The managing director of show organiser Emap Connect Home & Gift, Louise Young, commented: “We want buyers to spend more time at Spring Fair and so we’ve pulled out all the stops to make it an unrivalled buying experience that provides a stimulating and enjoyable environment for retailers. Our aim is to make the show easier to shop, reduce queues, provide more rest and relaxation facilities and to create a better all-round ambience.”
Three thousand exhibitors have chosen Spring Fair as their launchpad for around 300,000 new products. Those showing include 500 international suppliers, 400 new exhibitors and over 1,000 companies exhibiting exclusively at Spring Fair in the coming season.
Hall 1 will be home to kitchen, dining and housewares products. New names to the show include Design Objectives, Branded Housewares, Ghidini Cipriano, Gerbera, Modern Twist, Keep Cup, Montsoreau and Junction Eighteen with its Salt & Pepper Brand. They join existing big-name Spring Fair exhibitors such as Kuhn Rikon, Horwood, Mastrad, Ethos, Denby, WWRD, Portmeirion and Villeroy & Boch.
The popular Cook Live! cooking demos feature has been reinvigorated, with, say the organisers the best-ever line-up of celebrity chefs and foodie personalities. BBC television’s MasterChef presenters John Torode and Gregg Wallace will be taking to the stage, along with Peter Sidwell, Ching-He Huang and Justin Capp. In addition, a host of new product ranges will be demonstrated by Malcolm Harradine and Anita Finningham, and there will be industry-focussed briefings featuring hot topics for the kitchen and dining industry.
A new feature called Trend Box will form a special product showcase for Kitchen, Dining & Housewares , highlighting some of the most innovative and desirable new launches in this category based on the three key trends forecast by World Global Style Network.
Meanwhile, the Lifestyle zone promises a must-see selection of the latest cutting-edge products in Kitchen, Dining & Housewares. Over 20 brands will be showcasing under the Lifestyle banner.
