The number of visitors to this year’s Spring Fair International was 71,239 – outstripping the previous two years’ attendance figures.
Organiser Emap Connect estimates that around £2bn of orders will be placed by buyers as a result of their attendance at the show, which took place last month at Birmingham’s NEC.
International visitor numbers also increased, by 8% to over 5,600, as against last year’s event. For the first time, Emap Connect flew 75 international buyers to the show, believing that well-designed British products would elicit more interest than usual because of favourable exchange rates.
The show presented 2,800 exhibitors, which launched more than 270,000 new products between them.
Sponsored by Maxwell & Williams, Cook Live! was a highlight at the heart of the Kitchen, Dining and Housewares Hall 2.
A large working kitchen showcased new products and equipment being offered by exhibitors and featured live demonstrations by professional demonstrators, designer Nick Munro and chefs Raymond Blanc, James Martin, Jason Atherton and Aiden Byrne.
