Bakeware specialist Samuel Groves has consolidated its product offer after moving from its Hockley, Birmingham premises where it has been based for over 30 years.
The company, best known for its Mermaid brand, is now based in Oldbury, off Junction 2 of the M5.
“Our premises at Hockley were very large indeed,” said managing director Michael McVey, “and it was apparent that we were trying to be all things to all men in terms of our product range, which was negatively affecting our ability to deliver to our customers as quickly as they needed.
“It also meant stock surpluses due to the sheer quantity of products being produced.
“The move represents a narrowing of our product offering to focus on those products that we’re renowned for in terms of quality and price, with the ability to deliver stock items ordered late in the day for free the very next day.
“This has been achieved by a number of factors such as the purchase of new technologies for the production side of the business, and the stock ordering and monitoring systems, which are now automated”.
