PHA says: ‘The brand was established by mum Melissa Kieling when she realised that if she wanted a kids’ lunch bag where the freezable gel was actually inside the walls of the bag, she’d have to develop it herself!’
Melissa patented her idea and in 2009 launched the Personal Cooler: a foldable, freezable lunch bag that keeps food and drinks cool for hours – with no ice packs needed.
She has since expanded the PackIt line to bags for wine, picnics, grocery and baby bottles. PackIt is now sold in more than 40 countries. PackIt’s team of 25 employees is based in California.
PHA director Paul Hargreaves said: “We’re delighted to add PackIt to our family of innovative North American brands. PackIt fits perfectly with our PHA strategy moving forward.
“We know many retailers have missed not being able to include PackIt in their customer offer for quite a while and will be thrilled to see it back.”
PHA exhibited the range at the Exclusively Housewares trade show in London on June 12 and June 13 (EH128).
