Woolworths’ spirit lives on in Dorchester - as Wellworths

The old Woolworths store in Dorchester, Dorset, opens its doors again today, restyled as Wellworths.

Former manager Claire Robertson is behind the move, which has also given 20 of the original store's employees their jobs back.

Robertson believes there is a gap in the town for a store similar in format to Woolworths, although she is bringing in some new lines and abandoning others.

She is not the only original Woolworths employee to want to bring a Woolworths-style retailer back to the high street.

Three members of the company's former management have said they want to open a chain of 50 Woolies lookalikes.

By mary.anstice
Knowing what I know now I wish I had bought more Lindabarker Churchill fine bone china mugs. Do you in the now famous Wellworth's by any chance stock this range of mugs. Hope to hear from you.
