New cookshop opens in Cheshire

A new cookshop opened its doors this month in the Cheshire village of Audlem.

Brambles Cookshop is the brainchild of owner Lisa Taylor, who moved to the area two and a half years ago with her husband.

September 1 was the date of the soft opening for the independent retailer. Lisa plans to mark the grand opening in a few months and so far, business “is going really well,” she says.

With a staff of three, the 500sq ft premises stocks a selection of kitchenware, cookware, tabletop and small electricals. “We are small but, we hope, perfectly formed and full of kitchen products that people want,” Lisa said.

Key brands include Le Creuset, Smeg, Joseph Joseph. Cornishware, KitchenCraft, Sophie Allport. Flint & Flame and Hinchcliffe & Barber. There is a selection from smaller companies too such as Lucy Green Designs and Bakedin (cake mixes).

Brambles Cookshop offers personalised items made to order as well, such as Cornishware products and Flint & Flame knives and oak knife blocks with etching and engraving “that make fantastic gifts,” Lisa says.

The business also sells via its ecommerce website and has a presence on Facebook and Instagram. Additional services on the agenda include knife sharpening, gift vouchers and wedding lists.

In addition, Lisa is planning events including knife skills demos and a variety of cooking and cake icing demos (“there are many talented locals who are keen to be involved”) and intends to publish local recipes on the website.

The website will launch a digital marketing campaign on November 1, supplemented with local press advertising and social media marketing.
