New cookshop coming soon to Staffordshire

A new cookshop opens its doors next month in the Staffordshire market town of Leek.

The grand opening of The Wooden Spoon Cookshop, on Derby Street in the town centre, will take place on Saturday September 3 at 11am.

The venture is the brainchild of fellow directors Lindsey and Zoe Vincent. The mother and daughter team are currently busy promoting the launch by advertising the news on the shop windows using chalk markers for passers-by to see, and by handing out flyers and business cards in and around Leek.

On the big day, the town crier will introduce the business before the Mayor cuts the ribbon. There will be free cake tasters, leaflets handed out to shoppers in the market square, balloons given to children, and a raffle ticket for every paying customer to win a prize.

The intention is to offer a strong focus on baking, along with a mix of cookware, tableware, and other kitchen and dining products. Key suppliers so far include Kitchen Craft, Dexam, Creative Tops, Sophie Allport, Charles Viancin and New Soda.

The business will also provide a wedding gift list service, and a cake tin hire service. It already has a website (www.thewoodenspooncookshop.com) and a presence on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

*A feature on The Wooden Spoon Cookshop will appear in the September issue of Housewares Magazine.
