Michel Roux Jr joins Samsung Club Des Chefs

Samsung has today announced that Michelin-starred chef Michel Roux Jr is to become the eighth member of its Club des Chefs.

The chef at the London restaurant Le Gavroche, who is a judge and presenter of BBC cookery series ‘MasterChef’,  joins a line-up of top chefs working with Samsung to ‘transform the home cooking experience’.

Since its launch in June 2013, Samsung Club des Chefs has partnered with chefs from around the world, using their expertise and insight to develop the next generation of luxury kitchen products – all with the aim of helping people feel more confident when cooking at home.

Michel joins fellow Samsung Club des Chefs members such as Elena Arzak, fourth generation owner of the three Michelin-star Arzak; New York-based French chef Daniel Boulud and French three-star Michelin chef, Michel Troisgros.

This spring, the Club des Chefs will be ‘taking its innovation to the next level’ with the launch of an app for its Family Hub connected fridge. The app will feature recipes, cooking advice and hands-on appliance demonstrations from the chefs.

Michel said: “I think the premise of the Samsung Club des Chefs developing technology to help people increasingly experiment in their own kitchen, is really exciting.

“The Family Hub is a wonderful example of bringing people together in the heart of the home – the kitchen. I’m delighted to be joining my peers and friends to share our expertise and passion, partnered with Samsung’s innovation, to help people master their own cooking at home.”

Samsung European director of home appliance Dan Harvie added: “By working with some of the world’s finest culinary talent, we have been able to capture the essence of professional cooking and make it readily available via the Club des Chefs app, coming to the Family Hub fridge in 2016.
