Housewares Business-to-business magazine for housewares retailers and their suppliers
In January, London department store Liberty invited designers, makers and craftspeople to upload a photo of their product to Instagram using #LibertyOpenCall for the chance to be stocked in the retailer’s home department.
After receiving 9,500 entries, Liberty whittled down a shortlist and asked the public vote for their favourites. Liberty buyers are now making their final decision on the winner.
Once a verdict is reached, the buyers will work with the winner to make the product available in time for London Craft Week in May, when all will be revealed to the public.
Liberty said: ‘We strive to seek out, nurture and promote emerging design talent – and our Home department houses diverse artisans from across the globe.’
Exclusive brands stocked by Liberty include Azem William (pictured) whose ceramic pieces are ‘inspired by modernism and ancient sculpture, with a healthy appreciation of the Arts & Crafts movement’.
