The UK housewares industry is looking forward to a night of celebration at The Housewares Innovation Awards 2016 on Monday February 8.
The event, organised by Housewares Magazine and its digital partner www.HousewaresLive.net, is completely sold out – with more sponsors and award categories than ever before.
Some 400 guests are expected to attend the prestigious ceremony, which takes place at The Vox Conference, within Resorts World Birmingham at the NEC (during the Spring Fair).
The awards honour the best of the best, with accolades for the most exceptional products launched between November 2014 and September 2015, and rewards for retailers, companies and individuals that have gone the extra mile in supporting, educating and communicating with their customers.
The proceedings will be hosted by award-winning journalist, writer and broadcaster Jay Rayner. He is a regular food critic for ‘The Guardian’ and ‘The Observer’ newspapers and presents a weekly food report on BBC1’s ‘The One Show’ alongside Chris Evans.
Jay was one of the panel of critics on BBC2 daytime cookery show ‘Eating with the Enemy’ and performs a similar role on BBC1’s ‘MasterChef’. He was also on the panel of judges for American show ‘Top Chef Masters’ and chairs Radio 4’s off-beat food panel show ‘The Kitchen Cabinet’.
Jay will be presenting trophies on stage to the winners of 18 awards. There are three categories: retail, product and general.
The retail categories are: Britain’s Best Rising Star, Housewares Retail Website, Cookshop, Independent Department Store, Multiple Housewares Retailer, Independent Garden Centre and Multiple Garden Centre.
The product categories are: Kitchenware, Tabletop, Bakeware, Cookware, Small Electricals, Food Preparation and Packaging.
The general categories are: Britain’s Best Housewares Salesperson, Kitchen Hero, Service Award and Wholesaler Award.
