GHI Head of Testing joins Housewares Innovation Awards judging panel

We are thrilled to announce that Verity Mann, Head of Testing at the Good Housekeeping Institute (GHI), will join the product judging panel for the Housewares Innovation Awards 2017.

GHI is Good Housekeeping magazine’s product testing department. It opened in the UK in 1924 to trial the growing market of domestic appliances under the slogan Tried & Tested –which is still trademarked and used today. The Institute has rigorous test protocols in place and can review anything up to 3,000 products per year.

Verity has worked for GHI for eight years and, in that time, has tested a variety of food and non-food consumer products from smartphones and hair straighteners to saucepans to bakeware, food processors, graters, washing machines and fridge freezers.

She commented: “I love looking at new gadgets and gizmos and hearing about new trends and innovations hitting the market. Deciding on a new purchase – small or large – can be a minefield. So the fact that we’re helping consumers make an informed decision is a worthwhile service.”

Organised by Housewares Magazine and its digital partner www.HousewareLive.net in partnership with the Spring Fair, The Housewares Innovation Awards programme is at the forefront of best practice and excellence in the housewares industry.

The categories cover products and retailers – and entries and nominations for the Awards are still open. Entering is very simple: just download the relevant form via www.housewaresinnovationawards.com and send it back to us. The deadline is September 30.

Winners will be announced at a prestigious ceremony on the evening of Monday of February 6 at the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham.
