Exclusively Shows set to launch foodie initiative

Exclusively Shows has announced that Charles Banks, director and co-founder of The Food People, will deliver a daily food trends talk at the two-day event.

Exclusively Shows comprises two co-located trade exhibitions – Exclusively Housewares and Exclusively Electrical – which will be held on June 11 and June 12 at the Business Design Centre in London.

The Food People is a team specialising in spotting, reporting and predicting food and drink trends. Each year it releases a forecast, covering retail, foodservice, cuisines, ingredients, cooking methods and preparation techniques, aimed at helping businesses align their buying, promotions, events and merchandising with the trends of tomorrow.

The Shows’ owner BHETA (British Home Enhancement Trade Association) said: ‘The Food People will share the most relevant food and drink future trends which will have an impact on every visitor and exhibitor attending the show over the course of the next two years.’

Charles commented: “The problem for business today is that food moves fast – very fast – and often the consumer is moving faster still. So, understanding what the next vegan or the next street food [trend] is, is critical for business. At The Food People we combine specialist global understanding of consumer trends and behaviours with our expertise and passion in food and drink to define the future horizon in the sector.”

His presentation will take place at 11.15am in the Trend Hub area of the Shows (located in the atrium above Exclusively Electrical). The Food People will also welcome visitors to its display in the Hub and invite them to explore its online trends platform, look through its 2019-20 trends book and take away a free copy of its 2019-20 trends infographic poster.
