Fair, promises over
500,000 products, 40,000 new launches and
2,000 exhibitors, spread across five halls. The event offers retailers an opportunity to pick up fast-moving lines for the festive season and to preview exclusive product launches for 2009.
Amongst the specialist sections is Kitchen and Dining, where exhibitors will include, amongst others, Imperial International, Groupe SEB, Royal Doulton, Ethos, Typhoon, Forma House, Bodum, Arthur Price, Fairmont & Main, Creative Tops, Horwood, La Cafetiere, Meyer Group and T&G Woodware.
Other sections are Gifts, Greeting and Stationery, Volume, Toys and Home Interiors – the latter having been expanded this year with plenty of new exhibitors.
Autumn Fair is also designed to provide buyers with valuable market information to improve their performance in 2009, and a
range of free seminars will provide advice ranging from negotiating with suppliers to making profit from going green and online retailing.
Group director of the fair, Louise Young, says: “The current economic climate means that Christmas and the early part of 2009 will be all about providing unique products and greater choice to entice consumers. Only here will buyers find the new ranges which will be the ultimate best sellers for Christmas.”
Visitors are recommended to pre-register now at
autumnfair.com.
Get on the trail
Buyers attending Autumn Fair this year can plan their visit around a variety of trails designed to guide them to specific products.
The three trails for 2008 are:
 | Ethical Brands: Spotlighting companies selling accredited green or responsibly-traded products
|
 | Autumn Fair Exclusives: Identifying innovative new product launches visitors will not see anywhere else
|
 | Creative Britain: Focusing on high-quality British-designed products.

Association to present 21 suppliers within CHA Village
The Cookshop & Housewares Association is promising to make a big impact at the fair this year. The CHA Village will be home to 21 key Direct Company suppliers in the cookshop and housewares industry, all offering exclusive promotions and special terms to members for the duration of the show.
CHA Members and non-members alike are invited to visit the CHA Village, Hall 2 Stand H36/J37, to learn more about their trade association.
Meanwhile, the CHA will be launching its 2008 Cook’s Companion at a champagne reception at noon on the opening day of the fair. Independent retailers are invited to go along, but CHA Retail members will have the opportunity to be the first to place their orders for the personalised marketing tool, which will hit the streets in the run up to Christmas.
TV chef James Martin is gracing the front cover of the booklet, which is supported by 11 CHA Direct Company suppliers which have set their prices at special rates for at least six months.
The CHA, in conjunction with the Autumn Fair organisers, is also judging the CHA Awards during the show. They fall into four categories: Best New Product, Most Innovative Product, Best Packaging and Best Product at Show. Judging will take place from 10am on the Monday.
