Emma Bridgewater to speak at Autumn Fair

Autumn Fair has revealed details of its seminar programme for next month’s show, which takes place from September 6-9 at the NEC in Birmingham.

The keynote speaker on Tuesday September 8 is British designer Emma Bridgewater (pictured). The founder of the eponymous pottery brand will share ‘insights and inspiration’ in the eCommerce Theatre in Hall 2 from 2pm to 2.30pm.

Earlier in the same venue , from 11am to 11.30am, Ocado senior buying manager Martin de la Fuente will explore ‘buying for successful e-tailing’.

Other presentations planned during the show include Lee Thompson, director of Kitchenways Ltd, providing a case study on ‘starting a multi-channel business from scratch… and making money!’ He will reveal his views on product buying, channels, price elasticity, order processing and customer care. Kitchenways specialises in products for the kitchen, home and garden, sold at wholesale prices.

John Hewitt, director/owner of Hertfordshire retailer Bamford Trading, which specialises in tools and hardware sold over the internet, will talk on the theme of ‘a high street full of hardware stores’.

Henri Davis, vice chairman of The Giftware Association (and independent retail advisor) will discuss some of the challenges associated with setting up in retail – on the high street or online.

Finally Julie Deane, founder and ceo of Cambridge Satchel Company will speak about ‘expanding and internationalising your business’.
