EFG Housewares set to expand

Independent wholesaler EFG Housewares has revealed plans to extend its facility by 30,000sq ft to a total of 100,000sq ft.

The business currently carries more than 40,000 lines, from household goods, giftware and DIY to toys, partyware, electrical items, plasticware, toiletries, £1 retail and seasonal products, under one roof at its premises in the North London town of Enfield, and on one website at www.efghousewares.co.uk.

Managing director Mark Shipton said: “The increase of business of our online trade only platform means it now requires dedicated space. The success we have seen means we are now investing in an improved site to make the experience of buying online easier and quicker.”

The ranges of DIY, household goods and toiletries will be expanded. Mark noted that the toiletry distribution team has seen significant growth, “so the capability to buy greater quantities is required”. Storage is also being expanded within the new build.”

He added that the till area will also be improved “to become more efficient for the customer”.

The works commenced two weeks ago and will be completed in January 2017.
