ECM Housewares triumphed in this year’s Merchandise Mart contest at Exclusively Housewares, which aims to find the best point-of-sale display.

ECM’s Bialetti stand wins in Merchandise Mart contest

ECM walked away with the trophy for its Bialetti stand, which can hold up to 60 of the company’s frypans.

“It’s a space-efficient way of displaying a whole range very effectively, and has more impact than displaying frying pans on normal shelving,” commented ECM managing director Helen Hibbert.

Meyer’s Tea Bar and BHL’s Tidi displays came a very close second in the competition.

Judges included Caroline Kirkpatrick of Cookmate, Heidi Stickland of Kitchenmonger, Paul Marchant of Marchants, Helen Sparrow and Sarah George of Abraxus, Erica Coombes of Denby, David Eggison of Colanders, Anne and Sarah Hardingham of Dinghams and Sue Chuter of Kitchen Sync.

This was the second year that the Merchandise Mart feature had run at Exclusively Housewares, giving suppliers a chance to present their latest in-store merchandising ideas. It is sponsored by the International Housewares Association and its Global Innovators Award scheme.
