Cookware to expand as Swanage store moves into Woolies

Nixons Hardware of Swanage, Dorset is moving into the former Woolworths store in Station Road in the town.
It is thought to be the first time that a hardware shop has taken over an old Woolworths high street shop. The move, which will take place on May 19, will also see the store change its name to Nixon’s Home Hardware.

Derek and Julie Hancock took over Nixon’s Hardware in August 2000, and since then the business has continued to expand and outgrown the existing shop. The new premises are three times the size of the present store, and the extra space will allow cookware and other household ranges, amongst others, to be expanded

The first 100 customers through the door on May 19 will receive a 10% discount on all purchases.

Said Derek Hancock: “The new store is an exciting challenge and we hope the people of Swanage will support us.”
