Cookshop retailers see Scanpan in the making

Seven UK cookshop retailers recently enjoyed the first retailer trip to the Scanpan factory in Ryomgaard, Denmark to be organised by UK distributor Haus.

The visitors were Jim Abbott of Abbotts Cookshop in Sheffield, Janet Taylor of Beaconsfield business David Shuttle, Christopher Vaughan-Roberts from Peppercorn in Llandeilo, Diana Griffiths of Dorset chain Salamander, Susan Bailey representing Thomas William in Manchester and Chester, and Sarah Wood and Sara Fouracre of Tunbridge Wells cookshop Trevor Mottram.

The trip included product training and a tour of the Scanpan cookware factory, where Jim Abbott and Diana Griffiths both succeeded in casting their own aluminium pan.

“It was a wonderful trip,” commented Haus general manager Alison Shelley. “It’s great whenever we see retailers start to develop the enthusiasm for the brand that we have.”

Haus is now planning to repeat the exercise, and has scheduled a second Scanpan retailer trip for next spring. It is open to all stockists of the brand.

Meanwhile, the company is to introduce a new Scanpan range in September. It says it will be a non-stick collection that is induction compatible.
