Celebrity Mario Adorf to make a culinary tour of Ambiente show

German actor Mario Adorf will visit the five-day Ambiente trade show in Frankfurt on Monday (February 15) for a ‘viaggio culinario’: a culinary tour.

To pay homage to partner country Italy, Monday (February 15) will be ‘Italy Day’ at the exhibition with the spotlight on Italian cuisine and product design.

The significance of Italy for the consumer goods sector will be underscored by a special exhibition by star designer Paola Navone in the foyer of Hall 4.1. There, visitors can see products that have made Italy renowned as an export nation, including cookware and tabletop, displayed in the colours of the national flag: green, white and red.

Mario Adorf said: “The culinary arts and the pleasure of dining with others is an important part of my life. Moreover, I love discovering new things although traditional Italian cuisine is my first love.”

He is the son of a German mother and Italian father, and is deeply attached to both his home countries. After growing up and training in Germany, he lived in Rome for a total of 40 years.

With well over 200 German, Italian and international film and television productions to his credit, Mario has worked with stars such as Sophia Loren, Gina Lollobrigida and Charlton Heston.

Ambiente is billed as the world’s leading international trade fair for products for the table, kitchen and household, gift articles, jewellery, wellness and fashion requisites, as well as decorative products, interior design concepts and furnishing accessories.

This year, a total of 4,387 exhibitors from 96 nations will show their new products to trade visitors. Last year some 135,000 trade visitors attended from over 150 countries.
